William Earl Gunnels

Funeral services for William Earl Gunnels, 62, of Somerville will be at 3 p.m. Sunday at Bailey & Foster Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Donnie Howard officiating. Burial will be in Pilgrim Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Bailey & Foster Funeral Home Palestine.

Mr. Gunnels passed away Wednesday in Dallas.

He was born July 9, 1946 in Sweetwater to Cleo Edward and Jessie Inalee Terry Gunnels. He was a drilling engineer for Wave Energy. 

Mr. Gunnels was preceded in death by his father.

He is survived by his wife, Debra Sue Gunnels of Somerville; mother, Inalee Gunnels of Palestine; three sons, William Paul Gunnels and wife Tanya of College Station, Anthony Scott Gunnels and wife Victoria of Palestine, and Jeffrey Wayne Gunnels and wife Debra of Sulphur, La.; three brothers, Larry Don Gunnels and wife Judy of Cleburne, Tommy James Gunnels and wife Guinndlyn of Palestine, and Terry Frank Gunnels and wife Sandra of Springdale, Ark.; five grandchildren, Justyn Gunnels, Nicole Gunnels, Cody Gunnels, Allie Gunnels and Anna Gunnels.

Pallbearers will be family members.

Condolence calls will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday at Bailey & Foster Funeral Home.
