Ronald Ray Lipsey

December 8, 1943 - May 14, 2008

Graveside services for Ronald Ray Lipsey, 64 of Longview, Texas, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 17, 2008 at Summerfield Cemetery with James Winniford officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home in Carthage and Rader Funeral Home in Longview.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Rader Funeral Home in Longview.

Mr. Lipsey passed away Wednesday, May 14, 2008 at his home in Longview.

Mr. Lipsey was born Dec. 8, 1943 in Longview to R.L. “Tight” and Mary Ellen Whitehurst Lipsey. He graduated from Longview High School with the class of 1962 and attended Kilgore College. In his early years, Mr. Lipsey worked as a foreman for Lipsey Inc., a major Gulf Coast Pipeline Contractor out of Pasadena. He also worked in the Middle East for many years before coming back to the states where he started Lone Star Road Boring in Longview. He was a member of the East Mountain Church of Christ.

He was preceded in death by his father on Sept. 12, 1982; and his mother on Feb. 9, 2005.

Mr. Lipsey is survived by his wife, Ronnie Lipsey of Longview; two sons, Dalton Lipsey and wife Vicki of Longview and Jimmy Ray Lipsey of Longview; one brother, Don Lipsey and wife Sallie of Carthage; one sister, Mary Ann Lipsey of Spring; two grandsons, Marshall Ray Lipsey and Christopher Allen Lipse; and two uncles, F.G. “Bubba” Lipsey and wife Joya of Oakwood and Allen Gene Whitehurst and wife Joyce of Longview. Numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, other relatives, and many friends also survive Mr. Lipsey.
