Willie Hayne Weeks

Willie Hayne Weeks, 63, of Grapeland, passed away at Hospice of East Texas in Palestine, Texas, on Wednesday, May 20, 2009, following a courageous battle with cancer. He was born Nov. 6, 1945, in Lovelady, Texas, and served in the U.S. Army, during the Vietnam War, and was stationed at Pleiku. On Nov. 23, 1977, he was united in marriage to Linda Ashwood in Grapeland, Texas.

Willie Hayne is survived by his wife, Linda Weeks of Grapeland; his son, Brian Weeks of Mexia; his daughters and their husbands, Wendi and Nathan Shaw of Grapeland, Krissi and Randy Pickett of Victoria; two grandchildren, Allison Shaw of Grapeland, Carly Pickett of Victoria; sisters and brothers-in-law, Connie and Tommy LaRue of Elkins Lake, Cathy and Kevin Thomas of Huntsville; and mother-in-law, Ima Ashwood of Grapeland. He is further survived by several nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Hayne and Billy Weeks. 

Funeral services for Mr. Weeks will be held at Friday, May 22, 2009 at 2 p.m. in the Callaway Allee Memorial Chapel in Crockett with the Rev. Scott Matthews officiating. Interment will follow in the Lovelady Antioch Cemetery.

Family will receive friends Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m.
