James R. “Jimmy” Shugart

Services for James R. “Jimmy” Shugart, 76, of Frankston will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Autry Funeral Home Chapel in Frankston with the Revs. Norman Pope and Ken Mullen officiating. Burial will follow at Liberty Hill Cemetery in Frankston.

Mr. Shugart passed away Sunday in Frankston.

He was born Feb. 21, 1932 in Ganado to Houston Virgle and Diccie Clakley Shugart.

Mr. Shugart was a member of Frankston Evangelistic Church and was a retired insulator with Shanco Insulation in Longview for 32 years and nine months.

He was preceded in death by parents Virgle and Diccie Shugart; three sisters, Marie Shuttlesworth, Virgie Dunlap and Sharon Laughlin; and two brothers, Herbert Shugart and H. V. Shugart.

Mr. Shugart is survived by son, Danny Shugart of Maydelle; sisters, Katie Mattern and Nancy Morton, both of Palestine, Catherine Mullen of North Little Rock, Ark. and Carol Southard of Jacksonville; three grandchildren, Justin and Alisha Shugart and James Wyatt Dominy; and one great-granddaughter, Haley Elizabeth Shugart.

Pallbearers will be Mike Morton, Floyd Dunlap, Jim Johnson, Marvin Morton, Tyron Cobble, Michael Kimbrough, Carroll Newbourn and Wayne Phillips. Honorary pallbearers are Joe Dan Hopkins and Bobby Jack Henderson.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Autry Funeral Home in Frankston.



James Douglas Edwards

Services for James “Dean” Douglas Edwards, 56, of Houston, and formerly of Palestine, will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Morning Star Baptist Church with the Rev. Kay Winston officiating. Burial will follow at Fort Houston Cemetery under the direction of McCoy Funeral Home, Palestine.

Mr. Edwards died May 27 at his residence.

A viewing will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday at the church.



Margaret Ellen Kear

Services for Margaret Ellen Kear were held at 11 a.m. today at Driver Cemetery in Freestone County.

Miss Kear passed away Friday in Fairfield.



Marjorie Coker

Services for Marjorie Coker, 71, of Elkhart are pending at Bailey & Foster Funeral Home in Palestine.

Mrs. Coker died Monday at Palestine Regional Medical Center.



Virginia Serur Hambrick

Memorial services for Virginia Serur Hambrick, 73, of Pasadena are pending at Bailey & Foster Funeral Home in Palestine.

Mrs. Hambrick died Monday in Houston.
