Horace W. Tilley

Services for Horace W. Tilley 85 of Palestine, will be at 10:00 am Tuesday in the Bailey & Foster Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Robley Soileau officiating. Burial will be at a later date in Broyles Chapel Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Bailey & Foster Funeral Home.

Mr. Tilley died Saturday in Greenbriar Nursing Center. He was born November 1, 1922 in Anderson County to John Bynum and Birdie Lee Watts Tilley.

Mr. Tilley worked for MOPAC for many years in Texas and Louisiana, retiring in 1982. He was in the Army Air Corps during World War II as an airplane mechanic. He lived in Harmony Community since 1983. He was a member of Memorial Christian Church of Palestine.

Mr. Tilley was preceded in death by his parents, brothers John and Clyde Tilley, sisters Willie Lee Thompson, Bertie Lee Link, Doris Berryhill and Lois Tilley. He is survived by daughter Diana Kelly of Palestine, nephew and niece John and Julie Tilley of Palestine, sister-in-law Dorothy Tilley of Palestine, granddaughter Shannon Kelly Royston of Citrus Heights, Ca. and great-granddaughter Tabatha Kelly of Citrus Heights, Ca. and several nieces including Johnnie Link Baxter of Dupo, Il.

Condolence calls will be received from 6:00 to 8:00 pm Monday in the Bailey & Foster Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Memorial Christian Church or Faith Community Church Missionary Fund.
