A.W. "Woody" Wilson

Graveside services for A.W. “Woody” Wilson, 91, of Palestine will be at 3 p.m. Friday at Starr Cemetery with Rev. Gary York officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Bailey & Foster Funeral Home, Palestine.

Mr. Wilson died Tuesday at Greenbrier Nursing Home.

He was born June 22, 1916 in Tennessee Colony to Steve Allen and Lela Richardson Wilson. Mr. Wilson was a welder and had worked for George Hutcherson Enterprises. He served in the US Army during WWII.

Mr. Wilson was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Thelma Lee Wilson in 1994; two daughters, Rovane Weisinger and Roma Platt; two sisters, Mary Hudson and Helen Prater; and two brothers, Arlie Wilson and S.W. Wilson.

He is survived by his daughters, Glenda Blaser and husband Eads, Karen Haynes and husband James, son Rickey Wilson and wife Ann, all of Palestine, and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Allen Blaser, Eric Blaser, Evan Blaser, Austin Wilson, Caleb Wilson and Buzz Camp.

Condolence calls will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Bailey & Foster Funeral Home, Palestine.
