Services for Rev. Johnny Pharis, 69, of Palestine will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Bailey & Foster Chapel with Rev. Don Mattern, Sr. officiating. Burial will follow in Roselawn Park. Arrangements are under the direction of Bailey & Foster Funeral Home, Palestine.

The Rev. Pharis died Friday at Clairmont Rehab Center in Tyler.

He was born Aug. 9, 1939 in Oakwood to Neal Drannon and Ruby Lee Morgan Pharis. Rev. Pharis was a minister and a member of the Hillcrest World Harvest Church.

The Rev. Pharis was preceded in death by his parents, and a son, Jerry Lynn Pharis.

He is survived by his wife, Velma Marie Pharis; three daughters, Pam Taylor and husband Greg, Elizabeth Harris, and Cindy Callaway and husband Kenny, all of Palestine; nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Randy Smith, Matt Dean, Cameron Callaway, Chris Callaway, Curtis Pharis and Richard Pharis. Honorary pallbearer will be Lester Bingham.

Condolence calls will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Bailey & Foster Funeral Home, Palestine.
