Robert Charles “Clyde” Ricks





Services for Robert Charles “Clyde” Ricks, 74, of Fresno, Calif., and formerly of Palestine, will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Tinkler Mortuary Chapel, 475 N. Broadway, Fresno, Calif., 93701, (559-223-2107.)

Clyde was baptized at Morning Star Baptist Church in Palestine and graduated from Lincoln High School in 1952. He served in the U.S. Navy for 20 years, then attended Fresno City College and earned his Associate of Arts degree. He worked for the State Center Community College District for many years before retiring. He was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church in Fresno.

Clyde was preceded in death by his parents, Annis McCoy Ricks and Aaron Ricks; and a sister, Mary Jane.

He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Thelma Ricks; sisters, Mildred R. Crawford and Sophia R. Thorne (Ben), both of Los Angeles; brothers, John A. Ricks (Mary) of Houston and Elvis Ricks of Tyler; eight children, 16 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
