A memorial service for Lloyd Leland Johnston, 79, of Carthage, Texas will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, June 28, 2008 at Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home Chapel.
Mr. Johnston passed away Sunday night, June 22, 2008 in Conroe, Texas.
Lloyd Leland Johnston was born on April 23, 1929 in Anderson County, Texas, to Clinton Edward and Minnie Hogg Johnston.
Mr. Johnston graduated from Slocum High School with the class of 1947. He married Joan Gilmore on Oct. 14, 1948 in Houston, Texas.
Mr. Johnston worked as a computer specialist for Aero-Neutronics Ford. He was a member of the Panola County ARC. He had lived in Panola County since 1988 and was of the Baptist faith.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Clyde Arthur Johnston and Clinton Luther Johnston; two sisters, Sylvia Rena Martin and Mary Loyce Mclver; one son, Stephen L. Johnston; and one daughter, Kathy Lynn Johnston.
Mr. Johnston is survived by his wife of 59 years, Joan Johnston of Carthage; two daughters, Susan Esthay and husband Mike of The Woodlands and Connie Hollier of Carthage; one brother, Bobby Johnston and wife Peggy of Marshall; two sisters, Bernice Ramsey and Jean Hartman, both of Tomball; three grandsons, Toby Esthay of Eugene, Ore., Mikey Esthay and wife Anna of Baton Rouge, La., and Stephen Johnston and wife Charlie of Houston; four granddaughters, Monica Strange and husband Chad of Tomball, Melissa Knight and husband Justin of Carthage, Brandi Harris and fiancé Eric Rocket, and Emily Esthay, all of The Woodlands; and 11 great-grandchildren. Numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and many friends also survive Mr. Johnston.
