Don Pardue
Services for Don Pardue, 70, of Palestine will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Southside Baptist Church with the Rev. Jesse Callaway officiating. Burial will follow in Roselawn Park. Arrangements are under the direction of Bailey & Foster Funeral Home, Palestine.
Mr. Pardue died Monday at his residence.
He was born Feb. 26, 1939 in Westover, Ala. to William David and Edna Grimes Pardue.
Mr. Pardue was the owner and operator of Pardue Tree Service. He was a member of Southside Baptist Church. Don was a very loving husband, father, and paw-paw. He spent his life working hard to achieve a dream of providing for his family the things he didn’t have growing up. He was a very giving man who never hesitated to help a friend or family member with anything at anytime. He spent much of his time working in his lawn which was his favorite hobby. His home which he said was God’s gift to him was open to all family and friends. His favorite saying “God blessed this Alabama boy more than I deserved. That’s why I love to share my gifts with anyone in need. Some day I’m going to live in the big house in the sky.” On June 29, 2009 he took up residency in that mansion. We will miss him being here with us but heaven is a better place with him there.
Mr. Pardue was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Ruth Alverson; two brothers, David Pardue Jr., and Ronnie Pardue.
He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Judye Robertson Pardue of Palestine; four sons, Ronnie Pardue and wife Debby, Rick Willard and wife Lola, Ken Willard and wife Brenda and Kanon Pardue, all of Palestine; five sisters, Nell Smith of Cantonment, Fla., Maxine Oliver of Cullman, Ala., Linda Taylor of Norfolk, Va., Gail Ragsdale of Southside, Ala., and Connie Milan of Childersburg, Ala.; six brothers, Jerrell Pardue of Westover, Ala., James Pardue of Columbiana, Ala., Eddie Pardue of Harpersville, Ala., Wendell Pardue of Childersburg, Ala., Ollie Pardue of Vincent, Ala., and Joe Pardue of Childersburg, Ala.; 14 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Wendell Pardue, Joe Pardue, John Havis, Shane Willard, John Burney and Charles Mosley.
