Juanita King
Funeral services for Juanita King, 97, of Palestine will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Brushy Creek United Methodist Church with the Rev. Phil Croft and the Rev. Larry Krohn officiating. Burial will follow in Brushy Creek Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Bailey & Foster Funeral Home, Palestine.
Mrs. King passed away Tuesday in Palestine.
She was born Jan. 12, 1912 in Burnett, to George Theodore and Barbara Lewis Steedley.
Mrs. King was a homemaker and rancher and a longtime member of Brushy Creek United Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and husband, Kenneth Maund King.
Mrs. King is survived by two daughters, Susan Dessert of Palestine and Linda Meyer and husband John of Magnolia; three sisters, Ola Penton of Houston, and Lucille Stechman and Margarette Rasmussen, both of Edna; four grandchildren, Blake and Tiffany Dessert, Kenneth Wood and Monika Davis; three great-grandchildren, Arielle Wood, Hunter and Madison Donham.
Pallbearers will be Blake Dessert, Kenneth Wood, Gordo Broughton, Jens Peterson, Richard Oldham and Edward A. Guthrie.
Condolence calls will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Bailey & Foster Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers family requests donations be made to Brushy Creek Cemetery Fund, 970 ACR 445, Palestine, Texas, 75803.
