Irene Kobel Poole
Irene Poole, born June 9, 1917, in Forsyth, Mont. to John and Susan Kobel, died June 22, 2008, in Palestine, Texas. She is survived by her husband, Clyde Poole of Palestine; children, Marian and Dan Raney and Dan and Susan Poole, all of Palestine, Richard and Lisa Poole of Garland, Texas, and Sharon and Ray Martini of Dallas; grandchildren, Sharyl Martini and husband Noah Shroyer of Cincinnati, Ohio, John and wife Christine Raney of Atlanta, Ga., Andrea Poole of Arlington, Va., Karyn (Martini) and husband Mark Haldane of Atlanta, Ga., Susan (Raney) and husband Chris Hayes of Richardson, Texas, Amy Poole, U.S. Air Force, Germany, Stephan Martini of Lewisville, Ashley, Brittany, Katie and Wesley Poole of Garland and Alexis Poole of Palestine; great-grandchildren Johnathan Shroyer, Cincinnati and Sebastian Raney, Atlanta; and one sister, Lodena Measeles of Hayward, California; and numerous brother and sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews throughout the United States.
Irene’s first love was always Clyde and their family. Due to Clyde’s work in the oil business, the family traveled much of the United States. Irene took an active part in P.T.A. when the children were in school. She and Clyde enjoyed and taught Square Dancing and Round Dance for a number of years. Irene was always involved in church activities from teaching Sunday School to work with the Altar Guild. Irene loved to read.
Memorial service will be at St. Philip’s Episcopal Church, Palestine, Texas July 26, 2008, at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Sam Boyd officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made in Irene’s name to St. Philip’s Episcopal Church Building Fund or any charity of your choice.
