Vera Lee Miller

Funeral services for Vera Lee Miller, 71, will be at noon Saturday at Evangelistic Temple, 3011 N. Loop 256 in Palestine. Burial will follow in Lawrence Cemetery under the direction of Emanuel Funeral Home of Palestine. Officiating will be the Rev. Lawrence Barrett and Elder Charles Barrett.

Mrs. Miller died Tuesday in Dallas.

On Sept. 7, 1936, in Palestine, Bishop Tyree and Queen Ester Walker Barrett became the parents of a girl whom they named “Vera Lee.” She was the second of 11 children.

Those left to cherish the many loving memories of Vera Lee are: loving husband, Ulyless Miller Sr.; five sons: Roderick Miller, Kenneth (Cheryle) Miller, Ulyless (Christie) Miller Jr., Bennie (Chermelee) Miller of Palestine and Quincey (Lisa) Miller of Waco; four daughters; Dorothea (Romeo), Joyce Miller, Alma (Roger) Greenwade of Arlington, Margaret (Twany) Carter of Cedar Hill; 17 grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and a host of other relatives.
