Lois Morris Barrett

Services for Lois Morris Barrett, 64, of Azle, and formerly of Palestine, will be at 10 a.m. Monday at the Evangelistic Temple with Dr. Barry Roberts officiating. Burial will follow at Land of Memory Cemetery under the direction of Herrington/Land of Memory Funeral Home.

Mrs. Barrett died Tuesday at her residence.

She was born June 30, 1944, in Quanah to Cecil S. and Ethel Lee Bodine Langford.

Mrs. Barrett lived in Palestine for 34 years and was owner of the Reflections Salon before moving to Azle in 2004. For many years, she was director of the Miss Palestine Scholarship Pageant and also closely involved with the Miss Texas Scholarship organization. She was a member of the Evangelistic Temple.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, William R. “Bill” Morris, in 1996; sister, Eva Ward, and brother, Jeff Langford.

Mrs. Barrett is survived by her husband, Richard Barrett; three daughters, Cheryl Downs of Grapeland, Theresa Thaler of Kerrville and Stacey Morris of Austin; five brothers, Stanley, Mutt, James, Calvin and Kenneth Langford; and five grandchildren, Megynn Lara, Danielle and Zack Downs, Gabrielle and Jared Thaler.

Pallbearers will be Jason Smith, Bobby Sides, Danny Walsh, John Thompson, and Duc Nguyen. Honorary pallbearer will be Jeremy Jaynes.

Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Herrington/Land of Memory Funeral Home.
