Catherine Scruggs

Funeral services for Catherine Scruggs, age 56, of Palestine are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, August 5, 2008 at Autry Funeral Home Chapel, Jacksonville with Rev. Grady McDonald officiating.

Burial will follow at Land of Memory in Palestine.

Mrs. Scruggs died Saturday in Palestine. She was born Feb.15, 1952 in Houston. Mrs. Scruggs was a homemaker.

She was preceded in death by her father L. E. Hailey and nephew Michael Hailey.

Mrs. Scruggs is survived by husband, Mark Scruggs of Palestine; mother, Mabeline Hailey of Maydelle; son Steven Hight of Wynona; daughter, Tanya Hight of Elkhart; brothers, William Hailey and wife Kathy of Gilmer, Bruce Hailey of Maydelle, and David Hailey and wife Doris of Sherman; sister, Melinda Meadows of Maydelle; seven grandchildren, Kayla Hight, Catherine Ham, Lauren Kuykendall, Alexis Kuykendall and Tia Allen, all of Elkhart, and Brittanie Hight and Alyssa Hight of Rusk; and several nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Billy Shockley, Chris Hailey, David Ellis, Chad Ellis, Brandon Upshaw and Matthew Byars.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 9 p.m. today at Autry Funeral Home in Jacksonville.
