Services for Evan Joseph Luna, 15, of Palestine will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Msgr. Zacharias Kunnakattuhara officiating. Burial will follow in St. Joseph’s Cemetery. A rosary will be recited at 6 p.m. today at Bailey & Foster Chapel. Arrangements are under the direction of Bailey & Foster Funeral Home.
Evan passed away Friday.
He was born Oct. 16, 1993 in Palestine to Mario Luna and Cecilia (Gail) Grigsby. Evan was a student at Palestine High School where he played football for the Palestine Wildcats. He was a member of the Scared Heart Catholic Church. His favorite hobbies were riding four wheelers, frog gigging with his stepdad and socializing with his many friends.
Evan was preceded in death by his uncle Jose Luna Jr.
He is survived by his father, Mario Luna of Palestine; his mother and stepfather, Cecilia and Brent Grigsby of Palestine; grandparents, Joe and Anita Luna of Palestine; grandfather, John Gail of Palestine; sisters, Breanna Grigsby and Caitlyn Grigsby; numerous uncles, aunts, cousins and other family members and his many friends.
Pallbearers will be Blake Ledesma, Carlos Leandro, Walter Sheridan, Rafael Marquez, Jose Sambrano, Darreal Hawkins, Christopher Gail and Christian Blythe.
Condolence calls will be received from 4 to 6 p.m. today before the rosary at Bailey & Foster, Palestine.
