Services for Cleon Salmon, 73, of Grapeland will be at 3 p.m. Thursday at the First Baptist Church, Grapeland with Dr. Jack Shoultz officiating. Masonic graveside services will follow in Guiceland Cemetery with members of the Grapeland Masonic Lodge No. 473. Arrangements are under the direction of Bailey & Foster.
Mr. Salmon died Monday at Trinity Mother Francis Hospital in Tyler.
He was born Feb. 1, 1936 in Salmon, Texas to M.D. “Jake” Salmon and Edna Coleman Smith Salmon.
Mr. Salmon was a member and former deacon of the First Baptist Church, Grapeland and Grapeland Masonic Lodge No. 473. He owned and operated Salmon Building Supplies for many years.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Mr. Salmon is survived by his wife, Annis Salmon; sons, Tracy Salmon and wife Vickie, Mark Salmon and wife Kim, and Ted Salmon and wife Kimberly, all of Grapeland; sisters, Joyce Keen of Grapeland, Mirnie Roberson of Palestine; brother, Floyd Salmon of Grapeland; 11 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Tommy Salmon, Jamie Salmon, Jake Salmon, Marcus Salmon, Zelotis Shaver, Cecil Ray Chambers, Franco Rae and Marty Denny.
Condolence calls will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. today.
