Barbara C. Markwardt

Funeral services for Barbara C. Markwardt, 69, of Palestine will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Bethlehem Lutheran Church with the Rev. David Bergman officiating. Burial will follow in Weldon Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Bailey & Foster.

Mrs. Markwardt passed away Wednesday in Houston.

She was born May 15, 1940 in Weldon, to Vard and Viola Skaines Carroll.

Mrs. Markwardt was a retired administrative coordinator and a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Mrs. Markwardt is survived by her husband, Leo Markwardt of Palestine; daughter, Darla Resendez of Houston; sons, Doug Markwardt and wife Shari of Cedar Park, Dennis Markwardt and wife Maria of Pflugerville; brother, Vardie Dean Carroll and wife Jean of Grapeland; six grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Pallbearers will be Robert Curda, Tom Adornetto, Alex Gonzalez, Justin Markwardt, John Resendez and Ryan Resendez.

Condolence calls will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Bailey & Foster Palestine.
