Clovis Jean Allen Bays

Clovis Jean Allen Bays of Round Rock, Texas passed away on Sept. 28, 2009 in Round Rock. She was born Oct. 2, 1930 in Harleton, Texas to Hilary and Bobbie Allen. She was preceded in death by her parents and her loving husband of 51 years, James L. Bays.

Jean Bays was employed by the Houston Independent School District during the 1960s at both John G. Whittier Elementary School and Ebbert L. Furr High School. In later years she was a federal employee. She was a member of the Methodist church.

She is survived by her daughter, Janet Bibb of Round Rock; son, James Bays and wife Tracy of Georgetown; grandson, Jay Steward of Round Rock; brother, Carl L. Allen and wife Lois of Canton; sisters-in-law, Zuma Hall of Shreveport, La., Wanda Howell of Jefferson, and Ruth Bays of Marshall; brothers-in-law, Jimmy Singleton of Fultondale, Ala. and Bobby J. Bays of Baytown; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 1, 2009 at Herrington/Land of Memory Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Herrington/Land of Memory Funeral Home.
