Funeral services for Margie Lee Wood, 65, and a 30-year resident of Conroe, will be held on Thursday, Oct. 1, 2009 at 3 p.m. in Cashner Colonial Chapel with Brother Donnie Howard and Shane Britton officiating. Interment will follow in Conroe Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation is scheduled for Wednesday, Sept. 30, 2009 from 5 to 8 p.m. at Cashner Funeral Home.

Margie was born July 27, 1944 in Orlando, Fla. to George and Bertie Mae Whitehurst Hubbard, and passed away on Sept. 27, 2009 at her home in Conroe, Texas surrounded by her family as per her wishes. She was a homemaker and a rancher.

Her parents; son, Gary Wood; and sister, Agnes Weldon, all preceded her in death.

Margie is survived by her loving husband of 50 years, Jackie M. Wood; daughter, Teresa Britton and husband Ted of Palestine; sons, Jeff Wood and wife Rachel and Rusty Wood and wife Lisa, all of Willis; grandchildren, Jacob, Katy, Shane and Zach Britton of Palestine and Corey, Erika, Hali and Peyton Wood of Willis; great-grandson, Cayden Britton of Palestine; brothers, George Hubbard of Rustin, Louisiana and Bobby Hubbard of Orlando, Fla.; brother-in-law, Joe Wood of Conroe; and sister-in-law, Mary Gunn and husband Marvin of Goliad. Special friends, Vicki Thompson, Adriana Velasco and Tish Reising also survive along with numerous other relatives and friends.

Pallbearers will be Jacob Britton, Shane Britton, Zach Britton, Corey Wood, Greg Reising, Rick Rankin, Dean Doyal and Ben Murdock.

The family would like to thank doctors, John Griffin and Mary Beth Moore, as well as the nurses at Conroe Regional Medical Center for all their care and kindness.
