Robert Nicholas Kemper Sr.

Robert Nicholas Kemper Sr. was born on Dec. 1, 1933 in Chicago, Ill. to Robert and Eleanor Cunningham Kemper. He passed away Oct. 2, 2008 at his residence in San Antonio.

He was graduated from St. Mel High School and DePaul University in Chicago. Bob travelled extensively all over the world and raised his family in Mexico, Puerto Rico and the United States.

In 1977, he moved his family to Palestine, Texas. They were active members of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Robert was the project manager for the construction of the Holiday Inn and Ramada Inn.

His amazing life will continue to be celebrated through the many people he touched and loved.

He is remembered in the hearts of his wife, Anne Katherine Burke; his children and their families, Michael Patrick (deceased), Robert and Rebecca Jordan Kemper, Patricia Clare (deceased), Katherine Kemper Willett, Joe and Mary Kemper Gonzalez, Mike and Annemarie Kemper Roy, Arthur and Elizabeth Zapata Kemper.

He was a loving grandfather to 14 grandchildren.

Bob made a gift of his body for research to the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio.

Bob’s life will be celebrated at a memorial Mass at St. Mark The Evangelist Catholic Church in San Antonio at 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 4, 2008. Presider will be his first cousin, Father Robert Perry, O.P.

The family wishes to thank the staff at Odyssey Hospice for their care and love and our many friends for their support and prayers.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Odyssey Healthcare of San Antonio or to St. Mark the Evangelist Catholic Church of San Antonio or a charity of choice.
