Brenda Joyce Williams Clewis

Services for Brenda Joyce Williams Clewis, 59, of Palestine will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Mt. Calvary Baptist Church with the Rev. Dwight Callier officiating. Burial will follow at Fort Houston Cemetery in Palestine.

Mrs. Clewis passed away Saturday, Oct. 3, 2009 at Trinity Mother Frances Hospital in Tyler.

She was born Oct. 4, 1949 in Palestine, Texas to Archie Williams Sr. and Ersline King Williams.

Mrs. Clewis was preceded in death by her father, Archie Williams Sr.; and two brothers, Charles A. Williams and Archie Williams Jr.

She leaves behind her husband of more than 40 years, Raymond Clewis Jr. of Palestine; son, Raymond Clewis III of Houston; grandchildren, Allison Clewis of Huntsville, and Raymond Clewis IV, Archie Ray Clewis and Brobrick Clewis, all of Houston; her mother, Ersline Williams of Palestine; brother, Lewis Shampine; sisters, Dorothy Harrell and Audrey Williams, both of Palestine; mother-in-law, Myrtle Clewis of Dallas; sister-in-law, Sharon (Edward) Spurlock of Palestine; two uncles, one aunt and numerous in-laws, nephews, nieces, great-nephews, great-nieces and friends.
