T.W. Congleton
Funeral services for T. W. Congleton, 82, of Palestine will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Westwood Baptist Church with the Rev. Rick Dees officiating. Burial will follow at Land of Memory Cemetery under the direction of Herrington/Land of Memory Funeral Home.
Mr. Congleton died Wednesday at Palestine Regional Medical Center.
He was born April 22, 1927, in Palestine to James Henry and Mertie Bell Berryhill Congleton. He had lived here most of his life and was a member of Westwood Baptist Church where he was a deacon.
Mr. Congleton was retired from the Union Pacific Railroad and was a mason.
He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Chris Congleton; three brothers and five sisters.
Mr. Congleton is survived by his wife of 62 years, Elizabeth Congleton of Palestine; two sons, Steve Congleton and wife Mary Lou of Cedar Hill and Tim Congleton of Palestine; one daughter, Deborah Williams and husband Anthony of Palestine; one sister, Louise Walling of Palestine; 13 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Tony Williams, Kevin Congleton, Jeremy Williams, Keith Congleton, Cole Congleton, Arron Congleton and Tim Congleton. Honorary pallbearers will be the Doers Sunday School Class at Westwood Baptist Church.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Herrington/Land of Memory Funeral Home.
