Milton T. “Sonny” Knight

Milton T. “Sonny” Knight, 76, formerly of Palestine, passed away on Wednesday, Oct.14, 2009 after a lenghty battle with cancer at Rio Grande Regional Hospital in McAllen, Texas.

Arrangements are pending and are entrusted to the care of Skinner Silva Funeral Home of Edinburg, Texas.

Mr. Knight was preceded in death by his sister, Cornelia Kenedy; brother, John Knight; and by a grandson, Robert Coates.

He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Wanda S. Knight of Edinburg; children, Linda Gonzales of Bogalusa, La., Harold Knight of Tallahassee, Fla., Wanda Lair of Palestine, Texas, Darlene Berthelot of Jayees, Miss., Rena Knight of Palestine and Stanley Knight of Palestine; sisters, Mary Gartner of Castle Rock, Wah. and Betty Malone of Palestine; brothers, Alvis Knight and Major Knight, both of Palestine; 11 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.

Memorial services will be held at a later date in Palestine.
