Funeral mass for Walter “David” Bunch, 77, of Palestine will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Monsignor Zacharias Kunnakkattuthara officiating. Burial will follow in St. Joseph’s Cemetery. A Rosary will be recited at 5 p.m. today at the church. Condolence calls will be received following the Rosary at the church. An honor guard will be provided by the Knights of Columbus. Arrangements are under the direction of Bailey & Foster.
Mr. Bunch died Sunday at M.D. Anderson Cancer Center in Houston.
He was born March 25, 1936 in Palestine to Walter Ira and Alice McClung Bunch.
Mr. Bunch was self employed where he was in heavy equipment sales. He served in the U.S. Navy. Mr. Bunch was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church where he lived as a Catholic. He was a Sir Knight in the Knights of Columbus.
Mr. Bunch was preceded in death by his parents; a sister; a brother, Jack Bunch.
He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Mary Linda Knight Bunch of Palestine; daughter, Krista Bell and husband Andrew of Palestine; niece, Gail Pharis; three grandchildren, Yancy Bell, Carter Bell and Nate Bell.
Pallbearers will be Yancy Bell, Carter Bell, Nate Bell, George Torma, Omar Rivera, Cody Bristow, Mitch West and Donnie Davis. Honorary pallbearer will be Tommy Gardiner.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to St. Vincent de Paul.
