Services for R.P. “Pack” Watkins, 74, of Denson Springs will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Denson Springs Baptist Church with the Rev. Danny Watkins officiating. Burial will follow in Denson Springs Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Bailey & Foster.

Mr. Watkins died Wednesday at Mother Francis Hospital in Tyler.

He was born Sept. 24, 1939, in Anderson County to Roy Mitchell and Ethel Conley Watkins.

Mr. Watkins was a truck driver and worked in the oilfield. He loved cooking for family and friends and was a very generous and loving man.

Mr. Watkins was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Joan Watkins, in 2007; two brothers, Dan Watkins and Nick LaRocco; grandson, Jim Bishop; and a great-granddaughter, Karis Henderson.

He is survived by his daughters, Mary Jo Henderson of McKinney, and Kathy Elton of Frankston; a son, R.P. Watkins Jr. of Denson Springs; 10 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Condolence calls will be received from 5 to 7 p.m. today at Bailey & Foster Funeral Home.
