Refugio Guerrero Barrientez Jr., 59, of Palestine, and formerly of Luling, Texas passed away on Tuesday, Oct. 23, 2012 at Palestine Regional Medical Center.
Funeral mass will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 27, 2012 at St. John Catholic Church in Luling, Texas. A Rosary will be held from 7 to 8 p.m. Friday at O’Bannon Funeral Home in Luling.
Viewing will be from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 25, 2012 in the George Brown Chapel at Emanuel Funeral Home in Palestine with the family present from 6 to 8 p.m.
Mr. Barrientez (Negrio/Cuco) was born Dec. 18, 1952, in Paducah, Texas to Georgia Guerrero and Refugio Barrientez Sr.
He had worked at Palestine Contractors and was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
He was preceded in death by his beloved mother and father.
Mr. Barrientez is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Jessica and Walter Landers of Palestine; daughter, Sandra Barrientez of Palestine; sons and daughters-in-law, Jorge Barrientez and Tonia Patterson, Jose (Chema) Barrientez and Johanna Rodas, Kevin and Beatris Barrientez, all of Palestine; son, Refugio (Pete) Barrientez of Palestine; and his 19 grandchildren. He also is survived by his sisters, Julia, Juana, Lola, Lydia, Santos, Lupe and Gloria; and by his brother, Tony. Refugio was the baby brother.
