Memorial services for James Leroy Walker, 84, of Palestine, will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Bailey & Foster Chapel with the Rev. W.E. Shiflet officiating. Interment will be at Magnolia Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Bailey & Foster.
Mr. Walker died Tuesday at Cartmell Home for Aged.
He was born Oct. 14, 1929 in Palestine.
Mr. Walker was a oilfield worker and served in the U.S. Army Air Corp during World War II. He was a member of the United Pentecostal Church.
Mr. Walker was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Rodney Walker; daughter, Janie Allen; sister, Elizabeth Lambert; and a brother Harvey Walker.
He is survived by his wife, Rosie Walker of Palestine; a son, Wade Walker of Elkhart; stepson, Ronnie Bynum of Teague; eight grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
