Services for James Darrell Keen Sr., 100, of Palestine, will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Southside Baptist Church with Forrest Wiggins officiating. Burial will be in Laurel Land Cemetery in Dallas.
Mr. Keen died Monday in Palestine at the Dogwood Trails Assisted Living Community.
He was born Feb. 27, 1913, in Grapeland to James Edward Keen and Della Brown Keen.
Mr. Keen was a veteran of World War II serving in both military branches of the Army and Navy. Before retiring, he had been employed as a shipping clerk with Upjohn Drug Company.
Mr. Keen was a member of the Southside Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and two wives, Bertha Johannes Keen and Ruby Kennedy Keen.
He is survived by a daughter, Edith Daune Fusillo and husband Robert of Atlanta, Ga.; and a son, James Darrell Keen Jr., and wife Cynthia of Dallas; three grandchildren and two great- grandchildren; and several stepchildren and their families.
A visitation will be held Thursday one hour before services at the church.
