Arthur John Gerulatt

Arthur John Gerulatt, 80, went to be with the Lord on Nov. 20, 2013 at the VA Hospice in Temple, Texas.

He was born in Long Island, N.Y. on Oct. 20, 1933. After school he joined the U.S. Air Force. Then he settled in Texas, where he married his first wife, Elaine and they had three children, Cheri, Arthur Jr., and Kim. In 1968, he met his second wife, Shirley who had two daughters, Sheila and Becky. Arthur's main passions were spreading God's Word to anyone who would listen, dedication to law enforcement, and his many hobbies. He was ordained and served as a home missionary in Arizona for several years settling in Palestine Texas where he was a Sunday school teacher and active member of Evangelistic Temple. He served in law enforcement and a prison ministry in Palestine. He was active in “Top Guns”, A Texas Ranger reenactment group for many years, as well as many other interests and hobbies. However, his greatest joy came from serving his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. When asked “how are you” he would always respond “Unworthy, but justified, being sanctified, a day closer to being glorified, thank you for asking."  He didn’t just speak of God, but always encouraged his family and others to seek a relationship with HIM.

A celebration of his life will be held at Evangelistic Temple on Tuesday, Nov. 26, 2013, at 3 p.m. where he served for many years.

Arthur was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Behun Gerulatt; and his parents, Adolph and Hilda Gerulatt.

Art was survived by his sisters, Joyce Condrey and Joan Moore, both of Shelby, North Carolina. All of his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
