Ann Warren Crone
Ann Warren Crone, of Temple and formerly of Palestine, passed away to heaven on Thursday, March 8, 2007.
Ms. Crone was born March 3, 1932, in Dallas to R.C. and Virginia Smalley Warren.
She was a 1951 graduate of Palestine High School and worked as a bookkeeper at Otis Elevator Company in Dallas until her retirement in 1994.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and a brother, Billy C. Warren.
Ms. Crone is survived by a daughter, Janie Litton of Round Rock; granddaughters, Farrah Cortez and husband Dean of Round Rock and Avery Miller and husband Jason of Pflugerville; grandson, Matthew Litton of Honolulu; sister, Kay Gresham Szabo of Cedar Park; brothers, Sam Warren of Marble Falls, Donald Gresham of Jewett and Ronald Gresham of Lynnwood, Calif.; and one great-granddaughter, Addison Miller of Pflugerville.
A memorial service will be held at the First United Methodist Church in Temple at 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 14, 2007.
Dora M. Bridges
Graveside services for Dora M. Bridges, 68, of Elkhart will be at 2 p.m. Monday in Pilgrim Cemetery with the Rev. Mike Van Vleet officiating.
Mrs. Bridges died Friday at her home.
She was born March 14, 1938 at Conroe to Julian Adney Williamson and Mattie Isabell Higginbotham Williamson.
She was a member of the Oak Grove Baptist Church and had worked for Murray Corporation.
Mrs. Bridges was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers.
She is survived by her husband, Bobby Bridges of Elkhart; daughter, Brenda Foley of Palestine; son, Robert Webb of Elkhart; stepdaughters, Glennie Cannon of Palestine and Susan Renee Bailey of Houston; stepson, Robert E. Bridges Jr. of Houston; sister, Mary Sue Meyers of Bullard; brother, J.R. Williamson of New Mexico; three grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Arrangements are under the direction of Bailey & Foster Funeral Home.
Annie Florence Collier
Services for Annie Florence Collier, 77 of Palestine will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday in the Bailey & Foster Chapel with Bro. Rod Skelton officiating. Burial will be in the Link Family Cemetery.
Mrs. Collier died Thursday in the Cartmell Home for Aged.
She was born Jan. 31, 1930 at Montalba to Tucker Royal Via and Addie Florence Cheairs Via.
She was a Lutheran and a homemaker.
Mrs. Collier was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Annie Lorelli Francis; and a brother, Noble Royal Via.
She is survived by husband, Gerald Hugh Collier of Palestine; sons, David Royal Hosch, James Olen Hosch and Lloyd Glen Hosch, all of Montalba; eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Jason Hosch, Jacob Hosch, Dennis Hosch, Robert Francis, Scott Catchot, and Oscar Murdock.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Bailey & Foster Funeral Home.
Gordon Duard Muse
Services for Gordon Duard Muse, 80, of Elkhart will be at 1 p.m. Monday in the Bailey & Foster Chapel with the Rev. Charles Grasty officiating. Burial will be in Crawford Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Bailey & Foster Funeral Home.
Mr. Muse died Friday at his home.
He was born Nov. 23, 1926 at Munday, Texas to Johnny Muse and Molly Jackson Muse.
Mr. Muse was a Navy veteran of World War II, and a lifetime member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 4241 in Freeport. He was also a member of Freeport Masonic Lodge No. 757 AF & AM. Mr. Muse owned and operated Muse Trucking & Equipment Company in Freeport for over 35-years.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and a son, Gordon Don Muse, who died in 1981.
He is survived by his wife, Mary “Sammie” Muse of Elkhart; sister, Mary Jackson of Lake Jackson; and a brother, Floyd Muse of Collinsville.
Members of the Elkhart Masonic Lodge will serve as pallbearers and be in charge of graveside services.
Condolence calls will be received from 5 to 7 p.m. today at Bailey & Foster Funeral Home.
Thomas Newton Vaughn
Funeral arrangements for Thomas Newton Vaughn, 95, of Elkhart are pending at Bailey & Foster Funeral Home.
Mr. Vaughn died Saturday in the David Foster Hospice Unit of Palestine Regional Medical Center.
