Palestine — George Edward Hatfield

Funeral arrangements for George Edward Hatfield, 79, of Palestine are pending at Bailey & Foster, Palestine.

Mr. Hatfield died Wednesday morning at Elkhart Oaks Nursing Home.



Stephen Lynch

Services for Stephen Lynch, 56, of Fairfield were at 1:30 p.m. today at Capps Memorial Chapel in Fairfield.

Mr. Lynch passed away April 6.



Jimmie E. Newcomb

Services for Sgt. 1st Class (Ret.) Jimmie Elonzo Newcomb Sr., 69, of Palestine were at 11 a.m. today at Herrington/Land of Memory Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Barry Roberts officiating.

Burial followed at Land of Memory Cemetery with full military honors.

Mr. Newcomb died Saturday at his residence.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.



Angie Lean Dickson

Funeral arrangements for Angie Lean Dickson, 55, of Dallas, and formerly of Grapeland, will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the Church of Nineveh, 803 E. Anhabor, Dallas. Arrangements are under the direction of Cooper and Wilson Funeral Directors of Dallas.

A wake for Ms. Dickson will be from 5 to 7 p.m. today at the church in Dallas.

Local services for Ms. Dickson will be at noon Saturday at the Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Grapeland with the Rev. Aundre Reed officiating. Local arrangements are under the direction of Emanuel Funeral Home, Palestine.

Interment will follow in Mt. Zion Cemetery in Grapeland.

Ms. Dickson passed away April 8 in a Dallas hospital.



Louise Norris Owens

Louise Norris Owens passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 11 in McKinney, Texas.

She was born Feb. 11, 1917 in Palestine to Leonard A. and Mignon Harris Norris. She was a member of the Baptist faith.

She is survived by her sister, Gera Crampton and husband Jack of McKinney; brother, Leo Norris and wife Lynda of Spring; sister-in-law, LaVeda Norris of Longview; nieces, Sara Norris Alleman of Dallas, Carol Crampton of McKinney and Andrea Norris of Spring; nephews, Chandler Norris of Chandler, Michael Norris of Cleburne, Robert Norris of Denton, Stephen Norris of Spring, Nelson Prochaska of Louisiana, Lee Prochaska of Iowa, and Rickey Norris of College Station.

Louise also had many beloved great-nieces, great-nephews and dear friends.

Louise was preceded in death by her husband, Bill Owens; her mother and father; sisters, Cleo Mignon Norris and Gwen Norris Page; brothers, Alton Norris and Chandler Norris; niece, Lou Ann Norris; and nephews, Greg Crampton and David Scott Norris.

Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Roselawn Park in Palestine.

The family will meet at Bailey & Foster Funeral Home at noon.



Javier Perez Velazquez

Visitation and viewing for Javier Perez Velazquez, 43, began at noon today at McCoy Funeral Home Chapel. A rosary will be held at 6 p.m. with the Rev. Carlos officiating.

Mr. Velazquez died Tuesday at Trinity Mother Frances Hospital in Tyler.

He was preceded in death by his father, Felix Velazquez Castellanos.

He is survived by his mother, Aurora Perez Velazquez of Guadalajara, Mexico; his fiance, Anita F. Zuniga of Palestine; brothers, Rafael Velazquez Perez of Oakwood and Ricardo Velazquez Perez of Palestine; and sisters, Teresa Velazquez Perez and M. Patricia Velazquez Perez, both of Guadalajara, Mexico, and Margarita Velazquez Perez of Palestine.

Memorial services will be held at a later date.



Marie Redding Crawford

Graveside services for Hattie Marie Redding Crawford, 80, of Oakwood will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Oakwood City Cemetery with Jamie Duplichan officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Herrington/Land of Memory Funeral Home.

Mrs. Crawford died Tuesday at Cartmell Home for Aged.

She was born March 20, 1926 in Oakwood to Robert Ben and Addie Lee Redding.

She had lived in Oakwood all her life and was a member of the Oakwood Church of Christ. She was a beautician for many years and an avid gardener.

Mrs. Crawford was preceded in death by her parents and husband, James Crawford.

She is survived by her brother, Joe W. Redding and wife Ann; and sister, Robbie Eldridge and husband James, all of Oakwood; and several nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Mike Redding, Bob Redding, Bobby Eldridge, Caleb Barrilleaux, Canaan Barrilleaux, Jay Duck, Ethan Redding and Guy Redding.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to Cartmell Home for Aged, 2212 W. Reagan, Palestine, Texas 75801.
