Susan Augusta Benton
Services for Susan Augusta Benton, 42, of Fairfield, will be at 3 p.m. Wednesday at Capps Memorial Chapel in Fairfield with the Rev. Bubba Rutherford officiating. Burial will follow at Roselawn Cemetery in Palestine.
Ms. Benton died Monday in Fairfield.
She was born Sept. 6, 1964, in Waco.
Ms. Benton was a member of the River of Life Church.
She was preceded in death by her stepfather, Wayne Crouse.
Ms. Benton is survived by her parents, Carolyn Crouse of Fairfield and Bruce and Carol Earnest of Arlington; special friend, Buddy Gannon of Fairfield; brothers, David Wilbank and wife Lisa of Palestine and James Earnest of Germany; three nephews and one niece; and grandmother, Mareta Alford of Palestine.
Pallbearers will be Larry Chapman, Kenneth Gannon, David Wilbanks, James Earnest, Larry Alford and Wayne Alford.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Joe Gomez Torrez Sr.
Services for Joe Gomez Torrez Sr., 66, of Palestine, will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Father Zack officiating. Burial will follow in Roselawn Park under the direction of Bailey & Foster, Palestine. A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Wednesday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Father Zack officiating.
Mr. Torrez died Monday morning at Palestine Regional Medical Center, Hospice of East Texas, David E. Foster Unit.
Mr. Torrez was born Aug. 27, 1940 in Hearne to Pablo and Eulogia Gomez Torrez.
He was the owner/operator of Torrez Packing Company for over 20 years. He was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
Mr. Torrez was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Daniel Torrez Sr., in 1996; four sisters and one brother.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Torrez of Palestine; three daughters, Sharon Torrez Olvera and husband Tony, Sheila Till and husband Billy, and Peggy Torrez; and son, Joe Torrez Jr., all of Palestine; sisters, Fernanda Trevino of Altus, Okla., Janie Trevino of Dumas; brothers, Chico Torrez of Nevada, Pablo Torrez of Waco, Amando Torrez of Athens, S.G. “Tex” Torrez, Florentino Torrez, and Paul Torrez, all of Palestine; five grandchildren, Adriana Olvera, Ryan Turner, Daniel Torrez Jr., Heather Torrez and Joseph Torrez.
Pallbearers will Florentino Torrez Jr., Billy Till, Michael Aguirre, Tony Olvera, Diego Guerrero and Robert Lindsey. Honorary pallbearers will be John Torrez, Thomas Trevino and Tino Trevino.

Myrna Lois Herriage
Services for Myrna Lois Herriage, 70, of Tyler, will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Bailey & Foster Chapel with Dan Manuel and the Rev. Billy Watson officiating. Burial will follow in Chambers Cemetery under the direction of Bailey & Foster Palestine.
Mrs. Herriage died Saturday at Hospice Home Place in Tyler.
She was born Nov. 1, 1935 in Anderson County to Bankhead and Doris Tilley Berryhill.
Mrs. Herriage graduated from Woodhouse High School in 1954. She was a supervisor for Retail Merchants in Tyler. She was a member of the Church of Christ.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and a brother, Michael Berryhill.
Mrs. Herriage is survived by her husband, Gill Herriage of Tyler; a son, Harold M. Handorf Jr.; granddaughters, Brandy Sheri Boone, Cortny Edith Handorf and Ashly Jackman; three great grandchildren; four sisters, Earline Churchman of Price, Patricia Vance, Carol Sue Springer and Joyce Patrick, all of Elkhart; brother, Carlton Berryhill of Elkhart; and numerous uncles, aunts, nephews and nieces.
Pallbearers will be Jason Boone, Tommy Munn, Tommy Churchman III, Gilbert Herriage, Donny Herriage and Chad McFarland.
Condolence calls will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Bailey & Foster, Palestine.
Annie Belle Johnson
Annie Belle Johnson, 86, a long time resident of Texas City and Dickinson, Texas, passed away Sunday, Sept.17, 2006.
She was born March 3, 1920 in Palestine, Texas to Ulice and Alice Hilton. She was a homemaker and belonged to Midway Baptist Church.
Annie was preceded in death by her husband, Birvin “B.B.” Johnson; her parents and a sister, Minnie Lee Little of Santa Fe, Texas.
Survivors include her daughter, Phyllis Stavinoha and husband, James of Bay City, Texas; four sons, Cleo Johnson and wife, Chris of Destin, Fla., Donald Johnson and wife, Patricia of Santa Fe, Texas, Harold Johnson and wife, Anna of Friendswood, Texas, and Jerry Johnson and wife, Stacy of Missouri City, Texas; her sister, Etta Bell of Goodrich, Texas; eight grandchildren, Connie Seegers, Sheri Griffith, Mike Johnson, Russell Johnson, Lisa Ortiz, Brandy French, Keli Johnson, Jaree Johnson; nine great grandchildren, Keely and Morgan Long, Lindsey Dobbs, Rand and Loren Seegers, Nathan Ortiz Jr., Amanda Ortiz, Taylor and Leighton French; and one great great grandchild, Grace Dobbs.
A visitation for family and friends will be Tuesday, Sept. 19, 2006 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. in the Chapel of Crowder Funeral Home in Dickinson, Texas. A funeral service will be Thursday, September 21, 2006 at 10 a.m. at Midway Baptist Church in Palestine, Texas with the Rev. James Johnston officiating. Interment will follow at Midway Baptist Cemetery.
Funeral arrangements for Ernest Kirby, 73, of Tyler, are pending at Bailey & Foster, Palestine.
Mr. Kirby died Monday at East Texas Medical Center in Tyler.

Mrs. Thompson died Monday at Cartmell Home for Aged.
Services for Bert Coldiron, 88, of Buffalo, will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Buffalo Funeral Hom with the Rev. Jeff McAdams officiating. Burial will follow at Rock Prairie Cemetery in Madison County.
Mr. Coldiron died Sunday night in Palestine.
Visitation will be from noon to 8 p.m. today with family present from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
