Services for Daniel Joseph Pesce, 84, of Palestine, will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Monsgr. Zacharias Kunnakkattuthara officiating. Burial will follow in Tennessee Colony Cemetery under the direction of Bailey & Foster Palestine.
On December 30, 2012 Daniel Pesce went to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. He was born Oct. 24, 1928 in White Plains, NY. He was one of three sons born to Italian immigrants Paul Sr. and Henrietta Pesce. Daniel first came to Palestine in the early ‘50s while working in the oil industry, and then met the love of his life Wynelda Calcote. In 1954, the couple wed and returned to New York where he studied hair design. He began his long career in Houston, then returned to Palestine in 1968 and opened Daniel's hair salon. He retired in 1994. Daniel was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and the 4th Degree Knights of Columbus. Daniel never met a stranger. He was an adoring husband, father, and grandfather. He will be missed but never forgotten.
Mr. Pesce is preceded in death by his parents, Paul Sr. and Henrietta Pesce; brothers, Victor Santos Pesce and Paul Pesce, Jr.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Wynelda Pesce; son, Paul Pesce and Ann Pesce; daughter, Deborah Pesce; grandchildren, Damon Pesce and fiancé Crystal Rose, Spencer and wife Jennifer Pesce; great-grandchildren, Richard Rose Jr., Sofia Pesce, Harper Pesce; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be The 4th Degree Knights of Columbus. Honorary pallbearers will be Grady Wilcox, James Floyd, Lance Napoleon, Dee Napoleon, David Goble, Tony Floyd, Christian Pesce, Jacob Wilcox, Honorable Bascom Bentley, Bill Brown and Jerry Cooper,
Rosary will begin 6 p.m. today at Bailey & Foster Palestine.
