Palestine Herald-Press

— Wynelle was born Aug. 5, 1922 to Harry and Pink Briley in Mesquite, Texas. She went home to our Lord on Feb. 11, 2013 after a short illness. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Lloyd Briley; sister, Ruby Briley Price; grandson, Gene Tidwell; husbands, W.E. (Gene) Lawrence, A.D. Hamilton Sr., and W.E. (Bill) Patton.

Wynelle graduated from Mesquite High School in 1939. She loved to attend her high school reunions even though there were only five classmates (all female) left. She worked for Sheriff Bill Decker and the Dallas County Tax office where she met and married Bill Patton. They were married 27 years until his death.

She lived in Dallas and Mesquite all of her life until 10 years ago when she decided she wanted to move into assisted living. She chose Sterling House in Palestine and lived there until she moved to Dogwood Trails three years ago. She dearly loved living there and participated in all of the activities with her friends. She was a member of First United Methodist Church of Palestine and a member of Victor Sunday Class there.

Wynelle was a lovely gentle lady who was loved by all. She will be greatly missed by all of her family and friends.

She is survived by her daughters, Gay and Joe Bryant of Palestine, Ann Lawrence Parrish and her partner, Phil Young of Mesquite; three grandchildren, Guy Greer of Mesquite, John Piersol of Palestine and Lisa Tidwell Smith of Mesquite; three great-grandchildren, Briley Piersol of Palestine, and Monica and Adrianna Greer of Mesquite.

Visitation will be at Bailey & Foster Funeral Home in Palestine Friday, Feb. 15, 2013 from 5 to 7 p.m. Graveside services will be Saturday, Feb. 16, 2013 at 3 p.m. at Mesquite City Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Bailey & Foster Funeral Home, Palestine.
