Funeral services for Pauline Graves, 95, of Palestine, will be at 1 p.m. Friday at First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Bruce Hay officiating. Burial will follow in Roselawn Park. Arrangements are under the direction of Bailey & Foster Palestine.
Mrs. Graves died Sunday in Palestine.
She was born June 2, 1917 in Mercury, Texas, to Reuel Thompson and Annie Hubbard.
Mrs. Graves was a member of the First United Methodist Church for over 50 years and owned and operated Graves Insurance Agency. She was also a lifetime honorary member of the Sunshine Guild with over 25 years of volunteer service.
Mrs. Graves was one of the first members of Harvey Women’s Club and was a member for 50 years in the Order of the Eastern Star, she also enjoyed her Red Hat group.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Jack Graves Sr.; son, Jack Graves Jr.; and brothers, R.W. and Reuel Thompson Jr.
She is survived by her daughter, June Stratman and husband Rodney of Palestine; son, Jerry Graves and wife Bette of Fort Worth; sister, LaVerne Bean of Deweyville; seven grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be grandsons, Joel Howell, Steven Sikes, Jack Preston Graves, Lex Bryson, Jackson Sikes and Charlie Stratman.
Condolence calls will be received from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Bailey & Foster, Palestine.
