Services for Gerald Collier, 87, of Palestine, were held at 10 a.m. today at Bailey & Foster Chapel with the Rev. Charles McNeal officiating. Burial will follow in Link Cemetery under the direction of Bailey & Foster.
Mr. Collier died Sunday at Hospice Home Place in Tyler.
He was born Nov. 10, 1926 in Palestine to Charles Mason and Thelma Lee Campbell Collier. Mr. Collier worked for Murray Corporation as a tester. He served in the US Navy during World War II. Mr. Collier was a Baptist and a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 4309.
Mr. Collier was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Annie Florence Collier, a daughter Annie Lorelli Francis, a sister Wanda Lou Womack and a brother, Glenn Collier.
He is survived by three sons, David “Bo” Royal Hosch, James Olin Hosch, and Lloyd Glen Hosch; sister, Doris Wortham of Van Buren, Ark.; brothers, Charles Durward Collier of Midland, Edwin Duane Collier of Plano; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Larry Womack, Russell Womack, Matthew Womack, Doyle Campbell, Gaylon Campbell, David Hosch, Gene Cooksey and Darrell Collier.
