Funeral services for Margie Mae Perry, 92, of Palestine, will be held 2 p.m. Friday, June 13, 2014, at Bailey & Foster Chapel with Roy Drewett and Paul Jones officiating. Burial will follow in Roselawn Park. Arrangements are under the direction of Bailey & Foster Palestine.
Mrs. Perry passed away Sunday, June 8, 2014, at Cartmell Home for Aged.
She was born Aug. 7, 1921 in Wilson, Oklahoma to Henry Jackson Horn and Dera Mae Teakell Horn. She was a member of Court Drive Church of Christ. Margie and family spent many years as missionaries, both in the Philippine Islands and Lima, Peru. Margie had a book published “Following the Wild Pig Trails,” about their stay in the Philippines.
Mrs. Perry was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Bert M. Perry.
She is survived by daughters; Judy Drewett and husband Roy of Palestine, Texas, Mary Jane Hall of Dayton, Ohio, Donna Gay Howard of Xenia, Ohio and Linda Sue Perry of Kaufman, Texas; son, Richard Perry of Fairhope, Alabama, 12 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Royce Howard, Brian Hall, Roy Drewett III, Joe Perry, Gary Nichols and Michael Eastman.
Condolence calls will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, June 12, 2014 at Bailey & Foster Palestine.
