— Memorial services for Betty Broughton, 73, of Palestine, will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Bailey & Foster Chapel in Palestine with the Rev. Homer Bentley officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Bailey & Foster, Palestine.

Betty passed away Wednesday, Feb. 12, 2014 in Palestine.

She was born in Orono, Maine on April 26, 1940.

Betty worked as a sales associate for TG&Y for many years. She later became a caregiver, helping to raise countless children. Her granddaughters and great-granddaughters were blessed to have spent their early years under her care. She was a faithful member of Memory Lane Baptist Church.

Betty is survived by her brother, Ronald; her son, Anthony Broughton and his wife Melissa; and her granddaughter, Amber Bernauer and husband Adam; her granddaughter, Andrea Ivins and husband Heath; as well as her great-granddaughter, Rylee Holden Ivins.

She was preceded in death by her father, Reginald Sullivan; her mother, Ruth Sullivan; her sisters, Helen Sappier and Barbara Black; and her brother, Dick Sullivan.

The family wishes to acknowledge with deep appreciation the expression of love, concern and kindness shown to them during this hour of bereavement.

In lieu of flowers we ask that donations be made in her honor to Memory Lane Baptist Church, 2213 Crockett Rd., Palestine, Texas 75801.
