— Terry Sue Gordon Fitzpatrick passed away Friday at Trinity Mother Frances Hospital in Tyler.

Terry Sue was born on Jan. 15, 1957 in Houston. She met the love of her life, Richard Fitzpatrick, in December of 1977 at the post office where Richard worked. They were married on March 25, 1978 and had 35 wonderful years together.

Terry Sue attended Elkhart High School and continued her education to receive her Registered Nurse degree. She worked as a nurse for many years in the pediatric ward of Palestine Regional Hospital. She loved helping the babies in her care. She continued her nursing career until her health required her to retire.

Everyone who knew Terry was touched by her sweet and bubbly personality; her laughter and smile were infectious and she had a way of making everyone feel special, she had many loving friends and never met a stranger. She loved her family and friends “to the moon and back,” her favorite saying.

Terry was preceded in death by her son Ryan Lee Fitzpatrick and her father Dow L. Gordon.

She is survived by her husband of 35 years, Richard L. Fitzpatrick of Elkhart; her daughter, Kayce L. Fitzpatrick and partner Marissa Fitzpatrick of Houston; her grandson, Griffin K. Fitzpatrick of Houston; her mother, Edwina Sue Gordon of Elkhart; her sister, Connie Gordon Goodman and husband Dave of Brenham;  brothers, Mike Gordon and wife Helen of Elkhart and Pat Gordon of Elkhart; and many other relatives that she held very dear to her heart.

The family will receive friends from 6-7 p.m. on Tuesday, June 18 at Bailey & Foster, Palestine. Services will be held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, June 19 at Bailey & Foster Chapel with Rev. Todd Herod officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Bailey & Foster, Palestine.
