The youngest was Virgil, who had four daughters Lari, Ronna, Tonya, and Stephanie.

Mom used to call them her “wonderful seven” and she loved them very much.

After brother Tom passed away mom was so lost until Vanie had a heart attack, so mom was very busy helping care for him, until he recovered enough to go to Washington state to be with his family, then she was alone again.

She taught Sunday school from small children to adults. She worked at vacation bible school for a number of years and kept books for her home church in Pratt, Kan. She used to get up before daylight and make her spudnut dough, to make spudnuts for the church to sale to raise money for missions or to pay a bill.

She was kind and soft spoken but you knew when she said “no” she meant it. She worked in the Kansas conference with brother Tom helping do all kinds of things from church camp to youth camp.
