Peggy Potts Marr

Services for Peggy Potts Marr, 76, of Tennessee Colony, will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Bailey & Foster Chapel with Dan Manuel officiating. Burial will follow in Tennessee Colony Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Bailey & Foster.

Mrs. Marr died Sunday at her residence.

She was born June 27, 1937 in Hopkins County to Orville and Jewel Jones Potts.

Mrs. Marr was an appliance buyer for Sears – Roebuck, long distance operator, homemaker, bookkeeper, and delivered for Meals on Wheels for many years, treasurer of the Sunday school class at Tennessee Colony Church where she was a longtime member, she was also a member of the Eastern Star and a worldwide traveler. She taught vacation bible school at Tennessee Colony Church.

Mrs. Marr was a breast cancer survivor, a loving, giving, free flowing expression of God’s love. She supported many ministers.

Mrs. Marr was preceded in death by her parents.

She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Tommy Marr of Tennessee Colony; a son, Jackie Marr of Tennessee Colony; daughter, Karen Branham and husband Dwane of Malakoff; two granddaughters, Jennifer and Melissa; six great-grandchildren, Colton, Tommy, Kassidy, Kylee, Ryan, and Rylie.

Pallbearers will be Colton Barker, Karl Rushing, Jason Russell, Joe Radford, Greg Dublin and Gary Miars.

Condolence calls will be received from 6 to 7 p.m. today at Bailey & Foster Funeral Home.
