— Samuel Scott, 84, went to meet his Lord on April 7, 2013 at his home in Neches, Texas.

He was born Nov. 7, 1928 in Maydelle, Cherokee County, Texas to Oscar Lee Scott and Dellia Lee (Beasley) Scott.  

He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Samuel proudly served his country as a structural aircraft repairman in the U.S. Air Force. He reached the rank of master sergeant and was a Vietnam War veteran. He spent most of his retirement from the military collecting, repairing and selling Volkswagen Beetles and Karmann Ghias.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Lee and Dellia; and his brother, James Edward Scott.  

He is survived by two sisters, Sybil (Scott) Nolen and Glenna (Scott) Starkes; one brother, Randall Scott; and many beloved nieces, nephews and cousins.

In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to your local animal shelter.

Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, April 10 at Roselawn Park with the Rev. Jesse Callaway officiating.  Arrangements are under the direction of Bailey & Foster Palestine.

Condolence calls will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Bailey & Foster Palestine.
