A private memorial service will be held at a later date for Kenneth Hutcherson.
He was born May 31, 1934 in Palestine, Texas, to Lee and Ida (Handorf) Hutcherson. He died Sept. 10, 2013 at Elkhart Nursing Home after a brief illness with lung cancer.
Kenneth worked with the Harris County Sheriff’s Department as deputy for many years, then Chief Automotive until his retirement in 1994. He served as a reserve deputy for the Anderson County Sheriff’s Office and as a private investigator for Foster Security. He served in the U.S. Air Force. He was a Mason and a member of the Montalba Masonic Lodge. He served as a member of the Montalba Volunteer Fire Department and was a member of the American Red Cross as well.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, F.L. and V.W. Hutcherson; sister, Jessie (Hutcherson); and brother-in-law, Joe Becker.
Kenneth is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Arglean Hutcherson of Tucker; devoted daughter, Kimberly Gilbreath and husband Steve of Tucker; son, Paul and Barbara Smith of Houston; sister-in-law, Mary Beth Hutcherson of Tyler.
He leaves behind his grandchildren who he loved to travel with, Dustin Paul, Jennifer Paul, Melissa Foster, Michael Foster, Heather Galvan, Kim Smith and Brett Smith.
Kenneth was blessed with seven great-grandchildren, special nephews, cousins and many dear friends.
