After retirement Maggie had had her own typing, bookkeeping and income tax business in Elkhart. She also assisted the aged who had difficulty understanding and filing Medicare and supplemental insurance claims, among other needs.
She was a person for all people. When asked about her dazzling smile and bubbling personality, she said “It’s not just me you see, but Christ who lives in me”.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Shady Mansur; and brother, Clyde Myrick. She is survived by her sons, Roger Mansur and wife Barbara of Elkhart, and George Mansur of Tucson, Ariz.; grandsons, Marcus Hernandez of Houston, and Manny Mansur of Palestine; granddaughters, Lydia Ann Mansur of Houston, and Shyna Trussell of Elkhart; also 10 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Keith Seckler, Clay Shugart, Tim Salmon, Bobby Jones, John D. McKenzie and J.D. McKenzie. Honorary pallbearers will be all of her Union Pacific boys.
Condolence calls will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Bailey & Foster Funeral Home, Palestine.
