Memorial services for Monty Don “Bear” Redfern, 58, of Palestine, will be from 2 to 6 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 1, 2012, at Bar S. Ranch.
Mr. Redfern passed away Saturday, Nov. 10, 2012, at his residence.
He was born July 17, 1954 in Odessa to Leon Redfern and Juanita Wallis.
He was a welder by trade for 40 years, and a Palestine business owner. He was also a licensed pilot (1970s), loved motorcycles, cars, r/c airplanes, model trains, cooking and charity work. But most of all he loved being PawPaw to Jonathan and Karli.
Mr. Redfern was preceded in death by his mother.
He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Cecilia (Coble) Redfern; his father, Leon Redfern; daughter, Melissa Redfern; son, Don Michael Redfern; sisters, Jeanette Owens, Nancy Redfern and Yvonne Bynum; brothers, Lynn Redfern, Johnny Lee Redfern, Eric Scott Redfern and Steven Redfern; and two grandchildren, Jonathan Ferrell and Karli Elizabeth Redfern.
