Hazel Elizabeth Lanier

— Graveside services for Hazel Elizabeth Lanier, 83, of Elkhart, will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 24, 2013 at Myrtle Spring Cemetery in Elkhart with the Rev. Ray Prince officiating. Services are under the direction of Herrington/Land of Memory Funeral Home.

Ms. Lanier passed away on Thursday, Feb. 21, 2013 in Tennessee Colony.

She was born on Nov. 2, 1929 to James J. Lanier and Ann Davis Lanier.

Ms. Lanier lived in Anderson County all her life and loved gardening and working outside in the yard. She also enjoyed spending time with her family.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Alfred Lanier; and great-nephew, Travis Richey.

Ms. Lanier is survived by her sister, Vera Gaddis of Tennessee Colony; brother, James P. Lanier of Elkhart; niece, Beth Richey and husband James of Tennessee Colony; nephew, James Gaddis and wife Elizabeth of Bridge City, La.; and great-nephew, Wesley Gaddis of Bridge City, La.

Viewing will be from noon to 5 p.m. today at Herrington/Land of Memory Funeral Home.
