Services for Ruby Lee Cogswell Carpenter, 89, of Euless, are scheduled for 1 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 21, 2013 at Bartley Funeral Home in Grand Saline with the Rev. Johnny Dodds officiating. Interment will follow in Oakland Cemetery in Grand Saline.
Mrs. Carpenter passed away Dec. 18, 2013 in Bedford.
She was born Aug. 16, 1924 in Mt. Pleasant to Dolph and Maudie Lou Evans Cogswell. She spent her early years in Mt. Pleasant and Crockett before moving to Euless 53 years ago.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Rodolph Carpenter; son, Marvin Carpenter; brother, Donald Cogswell; and three sisters, Irene Carpenter, Joan Haney and Winnie Lou Hardin.
Survivors include three sons, Michael Carpenter of Lynnwood, WA, Marshal Carpenter of Euless and Jerry Carpenter of Beaumont; two daughters and sons-in-law, Trina and Andy Sweet of Bullard and Marsha and David Hodges of Eustace; brother and sister-in-law, Ronald and Patty Cogswell of California; three sisters and a brother-in-law, Marie Gay of Linden, Fern and Earl Mitchell of Haltom City and Shirley Davis; 12 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and numerous other relatives and friends.
Pallbearers will be Scott Sweet, Andy Sweet, David Hodges, Chris Carpenter and Craig Hodges.
Memorials may be made the American Cancer Society.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to services on Saturday at the funeral home.
