Services for Jot Harris Sr., 88, of Palestine, will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Bailey & Foster Chapel with the Revs. Fred Neal and Buddy Neal officiating. Burial will follow in Broyles Chapel Cemetery under the direction of Bailey & Foster.
Mr. Harris died Monday at Trucare Living Center.
He was born Oct. 13, 1924 in Anderson County to Jeptha Dudley Harris and Julia Little Harris.
Mr. Harris was owner and operator of Jot Harris Processing Plant for more than 20 years. He was a member of the Norwood Heights Baptist Church and served as a deacon at Harmony Baptist Church for over 50 years.
Mr. Harris was preceded in death by his parents and his first wife, Audry Harris.
He is survived by his wife, Loretta Neal Harris of Palestine; daughter, Diane Smith and husband Butch of Tennessee Colony; sons, Eddie Harris and wife Denise and Jeff Harris and wife Susan, all of Elmwood; a stepdaughter, Lorri Baack and husband Ronnie of Palestine; sisters, Mary Joe Richardson of Houston, Winona Boyd Sweeten of Houston and Betty Ann Malory of Corpus Christi; nine grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
Nephews will serve as pallbearers.
Condolence calls will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Bailey & Foster Funeral Home.
