Graveside services for Willie (Bill) Joe Luce, 88, of Tyler, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 15, 2014 at Tyler Memorial Park Cemetery with the Rev. Harold Davis officiating, under the direction of Burks Walker Tippit Funeral Home.

Willie (Bill) Joe was born April 21, 1925 in Chandler to the late Hattie Mae and Joe Allen Luce.

He was in the U.S. Army during World War II, was a driver for Tyler Pipe Industries, and was a member of McMurry Baptist Church and then Park Heights Baptist Church.

He died at a local hospital on Feb. 13, 2014 in Tyler, having been several weeks at Cartmell Nursing Home in Palestine.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Geneva Mae; two brothers, William (Pete) Luce and Calvin Luce; and a son-in-law, John Berry.

He is survived by son, Billy Joe (Bill) Luce and his wife, Debbie of Lubbock; daughters, Mary Jones and husband, Alfred of White Oak and Zoe Ann Berry of Palestine; two brothers, R.C. Luce of Arp and J.C. Luce of Mineola; five grandchildren and 10 great- grandchildren.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Friday. Memorials may be made to Cartmell Home, 2212 W. Reagan St., Palestine, Texas 75801.
